‘Experience ECC’ through campus tours and open house

Elgin Community College (ECC) is hosting its annual Experience ECC open house. This free event will allow community members and prospective students to learn about ECC’s 130+ degree and certificate programs. Attendees will connect with faculty members and explore programs, dive into tours based on their interests, and learn about getting involved on campus. Students and parents will also get answers to their questions about admissions and financial aid. 

Experience ECC will take place on Wednesday, April 16, in Building B, Jobe Lounge, located at the Spartan Drive Campus, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin, Ill. The event will begin with a campus tour from 5:30 to 6:30 pm and follow with an open house from 6:30 to 8 pm. 

Attendees have four campus tour options to choose from based on their interests, which will explore the different program opportunities in each area. ECC will provide the following tours:

Skills in Action: A Career Technology Tour: On this tour, you will get a behind-the-scenes look at in-demand programs such as Truck Driving, Welding, Industrial Manufacturing, HVAC, and Integrated Systems Technology.

Taste, Talent, and Vision: A Creative College Tour: This tour will take you to the creative side of the college, where you will explore courses such as photography, programs like ECC’s Culinary Arts and Hospitality, and what the ECC Arts Center is all about.

Pulse on the Future: A Health Professions Tour: ECC has 18 different health care programs! During this tour, you will learn about the hands-on paths in programs like medical assisting, ophthalmic technology, surgical technology, and radiography. Plus, the tour will give you a sneak peek at ECC’s state-of-the-art nursing simulation lab. 

Unleash Your Curiosity: Discover Math and Science Tour: Explore your interest in numbers, logic, and the physical and life sciences through hands-on activities and interactive labs. During this tour, you will learn about the many educational and career pathways these disciplines have to offer. 

Discover Your Campus! A Spanish Tour Experience: Explore ECC’s campus on a welcoming tour in Spanish. You’ll have the chance to see all our amazing facilities, included the gym, library, arts building, and student stupport services. Along the way, you’ll learn about the resources that will help you thrive academically and personally. It’s also a great opportunity to connect with our Spanish speaking staff.
