Bill Pelz Global Speaker Series

Elgin Community College (ECC) will host a Bill Pelz Global Speaker Series event titled “Harnessing the Future: The Global Impact of AI Beyond Education” on Thursday, February 27, from 2 to 3:30 pm.

Farah Bennani, PhD, dean of math, science, and engineering at ECC, will lead the discussion of the transformative effects of AI beyond education and examine the challenges and ethical considerations associated with AI implementation.

This free event will be in the Seigle Auditorium located in Building E, Room E125, on ECC’s Spartan Drive Campus, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin. The event will also be offered virtually via Zoom.

The presentation will explore how Artificial Intelligence (AI) represents not merely a technological advancement but a profound paradigm shift that is fundamentally transforming industries and economies on a global scale.

This series is sponsored by the ECC Global/International Studies Taskforce (GIST).

The Bill Pelz Global Speaker Series was named in memory of the late William Pelz, PhD, who taught history and political science at ECC for more than 19 years. For more information on the event, contact Lauren Nehlsen at 847-214-7809 or lnehlsen@elgin.edu.
